It's days like today that make the addition of turf fields at Deaconess Sports Park such a great improvement for the tri-state!
Empire Contractors was proud to work with Visit Evansville and Lochmueller Group to convert eight dirt baseball and softball fields over to synthetic turf. These new fields utilize Natural Kool Coco-fiber turf infill-making them the first park in the tri-state to utilize this infill. Natural Kool is made of natural coconut-coir fiber, and can keep the field temperatures about 20 degrees cooler than traditional turf fields with rubber or sand infill, making for a much better playing experience for the athletes.
Last but definitely not least, a big thank you to Empire's A.D. Boehman and crew. There was plenty of challenges fighting the winter on this project, but they pushed, and had them open for play this spring!
